Another 2021 newbie to the RF Ambassador Crew, this champion simply LOVES to run! Some may call it an obsession, but this swim instructor and coach would rather refer to it as her very own ‘me time’. Meet Julie…

Tell us a bit about you.
I am a mum of 2 girls and I work as a Swimming Instructor and Coach and I really love my job! It’s extremely satisfying helping kids learn such a vital skill. I started running a little bit back in 2010 but really got into it after having my first baby in 2012. I used running as some “me” time and it slowly developed into a passion (some may say an obsession). I started with just 5km runs but over time I have progressed into a distance runner and I can now proudly call myself an Ultra-Marathoner!

What keeps you fit and active?
Running mainly, but I do like to swim and I love playing team sports like touch football.

Do you have any tips to share to help with motivation and accountability?
I once read a quote that motivation is a muscle and you need to work on it in order for it to grow and this resonated with me so much! It is very rare for everyone to be super motivated all the time so it’s something we need to work on. Try and schedule exercise like it was an important meeting or appointment so that you can’t just blow it off. Lastly, find an exercise you love! Life’s too short to punish yourself doing something you don’t enjoy, so whether it’s running, walking, gym classes or whatever, I truly believe that if you love it, then it’s not forced and easier to stick to.

What’s your favourite RunFaster print and/or style?
My favourite style is the high-waist mid shorts for running but I do love the 3/4 and 7/8 tights for day-to- day wear. As for my favourite print – I think it’s too hard to choose! Currently I am loving Snow Leopard and Sunkissed but really I love them all!
