This strong mumma and self confessed RunFaster addict runs to help manage stress, taking her 4 year old daughter along for the ride. A true champion, meet Melissa...
Tell us a bit about you.
I am a 43 year old full time working mum to 4 year old Brooklyn. I have been running since 2006 and have completed 18 half marathons, 7 marathons, 1 ultra and several 10km races. Since having Brooklyn the majority of my training and races are done with her in the croozer pram. I run to burn off stress in life, especially since hubby was diagnosed with brain cancer in August 2020. I came across RunFaster in 2018 and fell in love straight away. I had finally found a pair of tights that held my tummy in and didn't chafe or move whilst running! The addiction started and I have never looked back!
What keeps you fit and active?
Running, pilates and weights...and chasing my 4 year old daughter around.
Do you have any tips to share to help with motivation and accountability?
I write all my training runs into a diary and make a date with myself for these.
What's your favourite RunFaster print and/or style?
Trying to pick a favourite print is like picking a favourite family member! Living in Queensland, I do love my high waisted mid shorts.
Any other stories or comments?
My favourite saying is "dream, believe, achieve" which I have tattooed on my wrist.
